The Oregon Association of Rowers (OAR) was formed as a non-profit corporation in 1986 to further the sport of rowing in the upper Willamette Valley. OAR is a member of US Rowing. We row at Dexter Lake, in Lowell, Oregon, fifteen miles southeast of Eugene, on Highway 58.

The Covered Bridge Regatta is held in April
and regularly attracts Junior, Collegiate, Open, and Masters crews from Washington, Western Oregon, and Northern California.

In 1994, in cooperation with the South Eugene High School Crew (now the OAR Junior Crew), we built a 2,800 square foot boathouse adjacent to the University of Oregon boathouse.

The OAR boathouse is located at Lowell State Park, on the north side of Dexter Lake. Built almost entirely with volunteer labor, the boathouse is owned by the City of Eugene Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department. OAR is the designated manager, and principal tenant.

OAR offers recreational and competitive sculling and sweep programs for all ages and abilities. We also offer storage space for privately owned boats.

For more information, please visit the OAR website at http://www.oarowing.org/
